Welcome to my website portfolio showcasing my artistic creations and engineering projects. I am a Digital Artist and Software Engineer with a passion for crafting innovative solutions across music, film, and technology. My work combines artistic creativity with technical expertise, ranging from producing and scoring videos to developing data-driven software applications. Beyond the music and film industries, I offer a diverse skill set and have a deep interest in leveraging software and data analytics to enhance both my creative and technical endeavors.

In Spillboy, I wear multiple hats as a mixer and sound engineer, drawing on over six years of experience in sound signal processing to craft our unique sound. As a multi-instrumentalist, I enjoy contributing to the band's diverse musical landscape, striving to ensure that each performance and recording captures our artistic vision. Together, we have organized and performed at a variety of shows across San Diego, from DIY backyard gatherings to venues like the House of Blues and Soma.

We've built our own music studio, The Spillstu, where we experiment with different sound signal processing units like analog compressors and equalizers. By integrating computer vision, machine learning, and real-time processing, we've automated parts of our recording process. Our journey has been one of continuous learning and growth, driven by a shared passion for music and innovation.

Videos and Sound Design

In addition to my work with Spillboy, I create videos that capture the vibrant energy and diversity of California's music scenes. Many of my projects document our band’s adventures, from playing shows to exploring new places together. I also produce travel videos that highlight the rich cultural tapestry of different music scenes across California. My abstract music videos are an outlet for creative storytelling, allowing me to experiment with narrative and visual styles.

Sound engineering is a crucial part of my film work, as I strive to ensure that each video not only looks great but sounds incredible too. Our music, inspired by local punk scenes, cumbias, corridos, and surf punk of Southern California, features prominently in my films. By blending these diverse genres, I aim to create an immersive experience that celebrates the unique voices of local bands, many of which are short-lived but leave a lasting impact. Through my videos, I seek to share these stories and sounds with a wider audience, bringing attention to the vibrant yet often overlooked music culture around us.

My software engineering journey began in high school, where I discovered a passion for coding and using technology to make life easier. This enthusiasm led me to pursue computer science in college, where I developed a variety of applications that reflect my love for problem-solving and innovation.

One of my earliest projects was an inventory management app for Trident Coffee, where I worked for three years. Faced with the challenge of manually logging inventory, I created an Android app to streamline the process, making it easier for new employees and helping the company adapt to rapid growth.

I also developed a financial application that scans bank statements to identify monthly subscriptions and bills using AI. This project is still in beta and runs on my computer, but I am working on building a Windows PC interface to share this tool with others.

My most ambitious project to date involves leveraging AI to automate my band's recording process. By integrating computer vision and hand gesture recognition, we can seamlessly control recording sessions, starting, stopping, and editing with intuitive gestures. Once the recordings are exported, they are automatically uploaded to a shared Google Drive folder, and each band member receives a notification with a link to the files via email and text. This project exemplifies my commitment to using technology in innovative ways, merging my passions for music and software development.
